Shiptonville Candle Company is a line of local soy candles made in St. Petersburg, FL. Each scent is unique and every candle is poured by hand with 100% soy wax. The candles are a great gift for the holidays, or any special occasion for a family member or loved one.

How It Started

Vana Shipton is originally from South Africa, but she made St. Pete her home with her husband in 1995. She first worked in graphic design, which is where her love of aesthetics really comes from. She enjoyed her work, but looming deadlines always made her want to start her own business. It wasn’t until some friends asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said she just wanted a nice, white candle. It was then that she realized, her business would be candle making.

The Scents

In 2018 she started her business, with each scent inspired by a story or life experience. The most popular scent being Cashmere & Cedar, which celebrates the love for her soulmate, her husband. The I Heart St. Pete candle has anti-anxiety properties with an aroma that calms the senses. This candle was inspired by all the local, independent artists in St. Petersburg, Florida.

All of Vana’s candles have different names, and numbers on the label with secret meanings. You will just have to smell them for yourself to completely understand. The combination of scents packs a powerful sense of adventure and uniqueness not typically found in candles.
